Who you are agreeing with

KaraTube is built and operated by Cristian MESINA, trading as Devmox (“Devmox”, “we”). Using KaraTube means you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the service.

What this service is

KaraTube is a discovery and queue-management layer over YouTube. It finds videos with the YouTube Data API v3 and plays them with the official YouTube IFrame Player. The video, the ads, and the playback experience are YouTube's.

Who owns KaraTube

KaraTube is proprietary software. It is not open source, and putting it on the internet does not put it in the public domain. Cristian MESINA (Devmox) is the sole owner of all intellectual property rights in it, including:

• the KaraTube source code, database schema and infrastructure configuration
• the KaraTube name, logo, wordmark and visual identity
• the interface design, layouts, design tokens, copy and documentation
• every improvement, adaptation or derivative of the above, whoever suggests it

All rights are reserved. Nothing in these terms transfers ownership or grants you a licence to the software itself. The repository is private, and any access you may have been given to it — for review, employment, contracting or by mistake — is not a licence and creates no rights. The full terms are in the LICENSE file distributed with the source.

What you may do

While these terms are in force, you get a personal, limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable right to use the hosted KaraTube service for your own karaoke — running rooms, building queues, saving playlists. That is the whole of the permission granted, and it ends when your access ends.

What you may not do

Without prior written permission from Devmox, you may not:

• copy, republish, mirror or redistribute any part of KaraTube's code, design or content
• reverse engineer, decompile or disassemble the service, except where mandatory law says you may
• build a competing or substantially similar service from KaraTube's code, design or interface
• scrape KaraTube, or access it with bots, crawlers or automated clients rather than a browser
• use KaraTube or its output as training data or reference material for machine learning models
• use the KaraTube or Devmox names, logos or trade dress, or imply an affiliation that does not exist
• remove, obscure or alter any copyright, trademark or attribution notice

If you want to license KaraTube, integrate with it, or discuss anything on that list, ask first at legal@demox.page. Requests are read; silence is not permission.

Your content stays yours

Display names, playlist titles, song notes and anything else you type remain yours. You give Devmox only the permission it needs to run the service — to store your content, show it to the people you share it with, and display it back to you. That permission ends when you delete the content or your account.

You are responsible for what you submit: keep it lawful, and do not post anything you do not have the right to post.

YouTube's terms apply

By using KaraTube you also agree to the YouTube Terms of Service. KaraTube is an API client built on the YouTube API Services Terms. KaraTube is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by YouTube or Google. Videos, thumbnails, channel names and every other piece of YouTube content belong to their rights holders, not to us.

Availability is not ours to promise

Whether a video plays at all — and whether it can be embedded outside YouTube — is decided by YouTube and the content owner. Videos can be made private, deleted, age-restricted, region-blocked or embedding-disabled at any time. When that happens KaraTube skips the track and tells you why; there is nothing it can do to play it anyway.

KaraTube also depends on the YouTube Data API quota. If the daily quota is exhausted, search stops working until it resets.

No vocal removal, no lyrics

KaraTube does not process audio. It cannot remove vocals, change the key, or alter playback in any way. The transpose control records the key you prefer to sing in as a note for yourself; it does not modify the audio. KaraTube does not provide song lyrics — displaying licensed lyrics would require a separate licensed provider, which is not configured.

Acceptable use

• Do not use KaraTube to harass people in rooms or via display names.
• Do not attempt to circumvent rate limits, quotas, or the moderation controls in a room you do not host.
• Do not use KaraTube to download, copy, or redistribute YouTube content.
• Public room links and shared playlist links are unlisted, not secret. Anyone with the link can view them — share accordingly.

Suspension and ending your access

You can stop using KaraTube whenever you like, and ask for your account to be deleted at privacy+karatube@demox.page. We may suspend or end access that breaks these terms, abuses the service or its users, or puts the YouTube API access the whole app depends on at risk. Where it is reasonable to warn you first, we will.

No warranty

KaraTube is provided as-is, without warranty of any kind. Rooms may expire, queues may be cleared, and the service may change or stop.

Limits on liability

To the maximum extent the law allows, Devmox is not liable for lost data, lost queues, an interrupted event, or any indirect or consequential loss arising from your use of KaraTube. Nothing here excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded — including fraud, death or personal injury caused by negligence, and the mandatory statutory rights you have as a consumer, which these terms leave untouched.

Reporting a problem

• legal@demox.page — copyright or trademark notices, licensing enquiries, unauthorised copies of KaraTube, impersonation, and any other formal legal matter.
• privacy+karatube@demox.page — your personal data, account deletion, GDPR requests, and security or privacy vulnerabilities.

Say which account, room or URL you mean, and give us enough detail to act on it.

Changes to these terms

These terms can change as the service does; the date at the top changes with them. Material changes will be announced in the app before they take effect. Continuing to use KaraTube after that means you accept the new version.
